Why Whole Foods, Plant-Based with Kaua'i Community Radio
I had the pleasure of being featured on Kaua'i Community Radio (KKCR) with host Alanna Le Sueur, where we delved into the transformative power of a whole foods, plant-based (WFPB) diet. This interview was a continuation of the discussions sparked during my presentations at an event hosted by the Vegan Society of Hawaii.
The conversation centered on how adopting a plant-based lifestyle can significantly impact both physical and mental well-being. We explored the wide-ranging benefits of a WFPB diet, including its ability to prevent and even reverse chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension. A diet rich in whole, plant-based foods can also support sustainable weight loss, improve digestion, and boost overall vitality.
In addition to its health benefits, we also discussed the positive environmental impacts of plant-based eating, making it not only a healthier choice for individuals but also a more sustainable option for our planet.
The interview was a part of the "Kaua'i Soapbox" program, which aired on September 6th at 4 PM, with my segment beginning at 01:05. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the science behind plant-based nutrition and how easy it can be to incorporate whole foods into everyday meals.
